Each performer comes with an array of four stats: Fun, Amazement, Laughs, and Thrill. The game begins with Clowns, Fire Blowers, and Strongmen available to players, and expanding into other performers like Escape Artists, Illusionists, Snake Charmers, Ventriloquists, and even Robot Bears. Putting performers in their preferred slots working alongside those they like will lead to higher star ratings, which players can disperse between Audience, Entertainment, and Complexity values to earn different material and monetary rewards.Īs players progress in Circus Electrique, they'll unlock new types of performers. As players build an increasingly large roster of performers and unlock a myriad of different show formats, they'll need to take into consideration performers' preferences for both their position in the show - meaning whether they desire to be in a position like opening act or headliner - and who they like and dislike working with. While the management aspects of the game are not as in-depth as titles like RollerCoaster Tycoon, there's still an immense amount of planning involved. Much of Circus Electrique's uniqueness comes from its combination of turn-based battling and circus management, providing players with a satisfying game loop of putting together different shows and fighting steam-powered enemies on the streets of London.
